Madrid (EFE).- The president of Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, told EFE this Monday that he does not rule out that the rojiblanco team will give “the surprise” in the days that remain to finish LaLiga and can opt for the title.
Cerezo pointed out that Atlético “will go out to win” next Sunday at the Spotify Camp Nou against Barcelona, a match that he considers “essential” for his goals in a league in which he does not rule out “surprising” within the “few ” options to win the league title in the nine days that remain to end the season.
“If this continues like this,” he said, “there are still nine games to play, with twenty-seven points at stake, which gives us some chance to reach the championship”, a challenge for which “we would have to win all the games and hope that lose Barcelona and Real Madrid”.
With the victory on Sunday against Almería (2-1) at the Cívitas Metropolitano, the Madrid team continued a positive dynamic of results, with thirteen consecutive games without losing in the league championship.
“In the resumption of LaLiga after the World Cup we have achieved a good connection between the team and a great understanding between the players and the coach to play as Atlético de Madrid should do it”, stressed the mattress leader.
