Los Angeles (USA), (EFE).- Rosalía starred in one of the most acclaimed performances this Saturday during the second day of the popular Coachella Festival 2023 after revolutionizing the public by taking her fiancé, the reggaeton artist Rauw Alejandro, on stage.
“This time is very special because four years ago I came to Coachella, but I did it alone (…) Has anyone heard “RR”?” The artist asked the audience during the last stretch of her long-awaited concert in the desert city of Indian (California, USA).
After this, the Puerto Rican appeared on the scene dressed in a black jacket and a scarf of the same color to interpret “Vampiros” and “Beso”, two songs that are included precisely in “RR”, the recently released musical work with his partner.
“Where are my Latin people? And what about the fans of reggaeton and perreo?” Said the artist between songs to encourage with “She is Rosalía” an audience already on fire.
This is how the artist’s show, which lasted for more than an hour, captivated a large part of this international festival that brings together more than 120,000 attendees daily.
The “Motomami” Phenomenon
At the start, “Saoko” and “Bizcochito” were the two songs chosen to stand before an army of fans who came wanting to dance to the songs from their albums “Motomami” and “El Mal Querer” after a vibrant performance at the same enclave by the British Charli XCX.
But the figure Rosalía in general and the phenomenon “Motomami” in particular were quite a sensation in themselves, since throughout the weekend hundreds of young people paraded through the Coachella Festival with personalized clothes by the singer from Sant Esteve Sesrovires. (Catalonia, Spain).
That admiration was evident from the moment he took the stage with his already recognizable cast of eight dancers, who once again wore black motorcycle helmets against the roaring sound of engines as a backdrop.
What came next was a performance full of sensual movements fused with snippets of folk dance, while wearing a black top and a long see-through shirt that raised the temperature in the Coachella desert.
“Your presence fills my heart. I come from Barcelona and that is why I am very happy to be here. (…) It’s because of you that I’m here tonight (“For you I am here tonight”)”, Rosalía expressed interspersing Spanish and English.
double concert
The show was rounded off with his piano skills playing the songs “Hentai” and “Candy”, as well as an exuberant play of lights and images on the giant screens that guarded the stage and that showed in great detail how he even got to mix with the audience.
After her appearance at the 2019 Coachella Festival, Rosalía returned to the famous American musical event this Saturday but without appearing as the headliner, something that the Puerto Rican Bad Bunny did achieve this Friday.
And it is that the organization of the festival, which has stipulated to repeat distribution next weekend in the same place, decided that it was the South Korean k-pop group Blackpink who would lead the event.
