Antigua (Fuerteventura) (EFE).- The general secretary of the Popular Party (PP), Cuca Gamarra, has assured that the request for pardon from President Pedro Sánchez to the women victims of the law of only yes is only due, for “fear of the polls.”
Gamarra has responded in this way to the statements of Pedro Sánchez in an interview in the newspaper El Correo, where he assures this Sunday that he apologizes to the victims for “the unwanted effects” of the law of only yes is yes.
Cuca Gamarra has participated this Sunday in Fuerteventura in the presentation of the candidacies of her party to the Cabildo, town halls and Parliament for the aforementioned island.
Before welcoming the affiliates and supporters, Gamarra has assured journalists that it is “unfortunate” that Pedro Sánchez, the person most responsible for the entry into force of this law, apologizes for fear of going to the polls “and has insisted in which “the only thing that moves him is that there are 44 days left for the Spanish to vote”, so “his concern is the punishment at the polls that he may suffer for having approved laws of these characteristics.”
The popular leader recalled that, seven months after the law was approved, there are almost 1,000 sexual offenders who have seen their sentences reduced and 104 of them are already on the streets.
The spokeswoman for the PP in Congress has also stressed that the consequences of the approval of the law are not due to an error, but that its entry into force is the result of the “arrogance” of Pedro Sánchez for not wanting to listen to the warnings of the PP , the General Council of the Judiciary and experts in the criminal field who warned of its consequences.
“He went through the arrogance of not wanting to listen and because his priority is not Spanish women, but staying in government and satisfying his partners who were the ones who demanded this law,” he pointed out.
Seven months later, Gamarra has assured that it is not understood that the reform of the Criminal Code that allows lower sentences for sexual offenders, rapists and pedophiles has not been rectified and repealed.
However, he has criticized that it only took 39 days to assume “the demand” of his partners for the crime of sedition to come out of the Penal Code or eleven days for the crime of embezzlement to come out of the Penal Code because “his partners, who had leaders Affected by corruption issues, they demanded a reform that would benefit them and allow them not to have to serve a sentence.”
The general secretary of the popular has also assured that Sánchez’s fear of the polls is spreading among all the socialist barons.
In this sense, he has referred to the absence of the barons this weekend in Valencia, where Sánchez is expected to close the most important act of the pre-campaign, his municipal conference.
“They do not want to be there because he has become a toxic politician and they consider that everyone who comes close to him is infected and therefore suffers the same electoral setback,” the popular insisted.
However, Gamarra has warned them that they are “as complicit in the policies that Pedro Sánchez has developed as Pedro Sánchez himself because it is the deputies from their own territories who have supported laws such as yes is yes.”
“They have been as warned as Sánchez of the consequences that it was going to have”, he added, but neither “have they apologized to the victims in all this time nor have they demanded a rectification or assumed political responsibilities”, he added.
In his opinion, it is time for the political resignations of all those who have had something to do with the entry into force of the law and, without a doubt, “he is in the lead”, referring to the Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. EFE
