Santander (EFE).- The Post Office will issue next Monday, April 17, a stamp dedicated to commemorating the Lebaniego Jubilee Year 2023-2024, which reproduces the image of the Santo Toribio Monastery with the Picos de Europa in the background and which has a First print run of 125,000 copies.
Along with the stamp, which will enter circulation just one day after the opening of the Monastery’s Puerta del Perdón this Sunday, two postmarks will also be issued.
The first will be used on Monday the 17th and the other commemorative will function throughout the Jubilee Year, according to the Government of Cantabria in a press release.
More stamps and postcards
The Minister of Tourism, Javier López Marcano, and the director of Post Office Philately, Leire Díez Castro, have presented both actions that, according to what they have announced, will be completed with other stamps dedicated to the Camino Lebaniego and a commemorative postcard.
López Marcano has described as a “loyalty pact” this set of “very necessary” actions to universalize the Cantabrian Jubilee Year and disseminate the Camino Lebaniego, at the same time that he has underlined the “very relevant” capacity of arrival and diffusion that has a seal and its interest for collectors and fans of philately.
The director of Philately recalled that the Post Office already issued a special stamp on the occasion of the 2017 Jubilee Year and now repeats it with a new edition that seeks to reflect what the Liébana region and the pilgrimage path are.
