Seville, (EFE).- Andalusia has reached, for the first time, one million tourists this Holy Week. This is 15% more than in 2022. Tourism revenue has reached 400 million, 27% more than the previous year.
These official data are advanced this Tuesday by the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, on his twitter account. She affirms that Andalusia “has had the best Holy Week in its history.”
“Our traditions and the way in which we show them to the world are a unique attraction”, maintains the president of the Board. Moreno has also highlighted that the average stay has increased by a day and a half and the average cost per tourist by 3.63 euros per day this Easter.
Almost 84% occupancy
The Andalusian Federation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (Fahat) has estimated the average occupancy during Holy Week in the region at 83.39%. This represents an increase of 8.19 points compared to the same period last year and exceeds the 2019 data by 4.59 points.
The average number of tourists in Andalusia at Easter confirms “the recovery” compared to the pre-pandemic data “solely from the perspective of demand” and confirms the initial forecast of the sector regarding Easter, considered the prelude to summer.
As detailed by the employers, the province with the highest occupation is Huelva, with 86.04%, followed by Granada (85%), Cádiz (84.89%), Málaga (84.24%), Seville (84% ), Jaén (81%), Córdoba (80%) and Almería (72.5%).
Regarding the forecasts made by the federation at the beginning of the week, there has been a “slight upward adjustment” of 0.96 points. EFE
