Madrid (EFE).- Several accidents in the Valencian Community, Andalusia and Murcia complicate the return of the Easter holidays on the roads, with retentions in the direction of Madrid at points such as the A-5 at the height of Lucillos (Toledo) and from Navalcarnero (Madrid) and on the A-4 in several sections of Córdoba and Jaén.
According to the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), 28 people had died in accidents until 8:00 p.m. this Sunday, so the 27 fatalities for all of Easter last year have already been exceeded, in the absence of The special Traffic operation concludes at midnight this Monday, a holiday in Catalonia, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, Navarra, the Basque Country and La Rioja.
At around 1:30 p.m., the influx of cars caused very slow traffic at the entrances to Madrid, especially on the A-1 in San Agustín de Guadalix, on the A-3 in Villarejo de Salvanés and Arganda del Rey, and on the A-6 in Las Rozas.
However, the bulk of the traffic is still in the border area, and in the direction of the capital there were several complicated points, with dense traffic on the A-5 at the height of Lucillos (Toledo) and Navalcarnero (Madrid), as well as as in Almuradiel (Ciudad Real) and in Seseña (Toledo).
The return of the Easter holidays is also causing important retentions on the A-52 in Lubián (Zamora) towards Benavente; on the A-1 in Cardeñajimeno (Burgos) towards Miranda de Ebro; in various sections of the A-4 in Andalusia; on the AP-7 in Banyeres del Penedès (Tarragona) towards Barcelona; on the A-8 in the Vizcaya direction, especially in Solares and Laredo (Cantabria), and on the A-7 between Alcantarilla and Espinardo (Murcia) in the Alicante direction.
Precisely, in Alcantarilla there has been one of the accidents that are especially complicating the situation on the roads, like the one registered in the Alicante town of Monforte del Cid, on the A-31 in the Albacete direction.
Other accidents held up traffic on the AP-7 near Burriana (Castellón) towards Barcelona; on the A-7 in Cala de Mijas (Málaga) in the Fuengirola direction; at the entrance to Seville on the A-4 as it passes through Bellavista, and in two sections of the A-92 in Granada: Peligros towards Guadix and Láchar towards the capital of Granada.
The DGT foresees traffic problems, which are already being registered, between 1:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. this Monday, when the return occurs in the regions where it is a holiday and in other communities, such as Madrid, because there are no schools yet.
