Pamplona (EFE).- Club Atlético Osasuna put the icing on the cake to a spectacular week, coming back from Elche (2-1) with a brace from Moroccan Abde that served to win the league again a month and a half later.
Osasuna received Elche with the cup hangover still kicking. The rojilla intensity was about to be rewarded, but González Fuertes decided not to whistle a penalty after reviewing the action in the VOR room.
The people from Elche were arriving in the area. Boyé’s Chilean kick after a counterattack did not end in the best way, an action that served his team to keep the Navarrese defense active. Beccacece ordered his team to wait for their rival before launching towards Aitor Fernández’s goal.
In the 44th minute, Elche struck. Mascarell served a long ball for Morente. The winger punctured the ball inside the area to get away from Nacho Vidal and make it 0-1 with a right hand that beat Aitor Fernández.
Darko Brasanac left the pitch injured. Moncayola entered through the Serbian to rearm his team. The marker did not move and Elche left the locker room with an advantage.
Arrasate decided to bring in Aimar Oroz to the detriment of a somewhat out of place Nacho Vidal after returning from his injury. The people of Pamplona subdued Elche looking for the rival goal in the second 45 minutes.
Osasuna searched for the goal more assiduously until he found the prize in the 70th minute. A good counterattack led by Barja was finished off by Abde inside the area to put his team ahead with his second league goal. Bigas unsuccessfully finished off minutes later.
The fans came up and boosted their team with the passing of the minutes. The Moroccan Abde made the second. His placed shot capped off the local comeback.
Osasuna won again more than two months later to end a historic week that began with qualifying for the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Bilbao in San Mamés.
