Lugo, Apr 8 (EFE).- The Río Breogán welcomed Real Madrid with a recognition to the Bosnian Dzanan Musa that he turned (96-72) into a tribute to himself against the whites in a great group match with which he blurred the of Chus Mateo to the delight of the fans of Pazo dos Deportes in Lugo and clinging to the fight for the playoff.
Real Madrid, with significant losses, offered an unknown version already in the first act (21-12) with ten losses, improved in the second and came to a point after the break, but Breogán didn’t pick him up to go decidedly going for the win with a 31-17 in the third quarter, in which, in addition, his rival lost Edy Tavares, disqualified.
Madrid’s fifth defeat this season in the Endesa League was Breogán’s first victory against one of those who precede him in the table and he had Justus Hollatz, with 21 points and a PIR of 26, the best.
The ovation and songs from MVP to Musa on his return to the Pazo dos Deportes de Lugo with Real Madrid became whistles for the now player of the white team. The storm was starting.
And that started the clash with a triple by Mario Hezonja, who gave continuity like this after 20 minutes that he had endorsed Bayern in the Euroleague with 5 of 10 on 6.75 shots.
The Breogan came out in response. First, with a basket of three from Hollatz and, later, with a block from Nakic to Edy Tavares. Bamforth put the Lugo ahead for the first time after four minutes (7-5). The partial of the Lugo stretched to 10-0 (13-5. m.5) and Cornelie broke it with a triple that Hollatz replied (16-8) to cause Chus Mateo’s timeout.
Real Madrid reacted lukewarmly and Nakic punished them with another shot from three. The percentage was surprising at that point for Breogán in triples: 4 of 5, 80 percent (19-10, m.8), which already dropped to 57% at the end of the first quarter, which was reached with 21- 12 on the scoreboard and 10 losses for the madridistas.
Breogán, with a lot of rhythm, caused imbalances in Real Madrid. Brajkovic and Nenadic made the most of them and put the maximum difference (+13) at the start of the second quarter (25-12).
Without any member of the starting five on court, the Whites began to reduce their lead in the second quarter, in which they only had one loss.
A triple from Causeur and the contribution, mainly, from Yabusele reduced Breogán’s income to four points (33-29, m.18). Musa from 6.75 (37-34, m.19) gave him another bite and Brajkovic left him at five points for the locals with a dunk before the break.
Real Madrid returned from the locker room with a triple by Hanga on his fourth attempt and a three plus one by Musa (42-41, m.22). It seemed that the whites were going to take the reins of the match, but the Lugo team recovered with a 7-0 run (49-41, m.23) in just over a minute.
Chus Mateo stopped the game, but not against Breogán. Musa lost the ball and the locals extended the set (12-0) with a triple by Bamforth and a two-point basket by Momirov to recover the maximum difference -until then- (54-41, m.25) for the Lugo team.
The income grew (62-43, m.27) with the success of Brajkovic and Nakic in two shots of three and one of two from Bamforth after another timeout for Madrid, which was desperate. A technique fell on Hezonja and only Yabusele brought clarity to the visitors.
Real Madrid was on the canvas in the Pazo. Sergi Quintela put the celestials 20 up (67-47, m.28) and Tavares was whistled for an unsportsmanlike call after review by the referees that cost him the disqualification and Breogán entered 19 (70-51) up in the last quarter after a 31 -17 in the third.
The Lugo did not want to feed the hopes of their rival. They endorsed him a 5-0 entry in the final ten minutes (75-51). Musa was proud of the whites, but his former teammates did not forgive, they put the maximum advantage (96-70, m.40) and in the Pazo there was a party and MVP songs, but for the German Justus Hollatz.
