Ibiza, Apr 5 (EFE).- The mayor of Ibiza, Rafa Ruiz, received this Wednesday, and for the first time in the island’s history, a representation of the Spanish women’s soccer team, which will face Norway tomorrow .
Ruiz, along with the Councilor for Sports, Jordi Salewski, have received a visit from the national coach, Jorge Vila, and the captains, Ivana Andrés, Esther González and Irene Guerrero at the Town Hall headquarters, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has reported ( RFEF) in a note.
The reception was also attended by the RFEF director of women’s football, Ana Álvarez, and the expedition leader of the national team, Ángeles Aguilera.
The team, which landed yesterday afternoon at the island’s airport, is the first time it has played a match in Ibiza.
During the event, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has delivered two shirts from the new Adidas kit inspired by the seabed, while the municipal administration has delivered a posidonia sculpture, made by the students of the Ibiza School of Art , and a gift made by the jewelers Majoral and Elisa Pomar.
The first match, scheduled for tomorrow Thursday at 6:00 p.m., will pit the Spanish players against Norway and on Thursday they will play the second match, also at 6:00 p.m., against China.
