Sao Paulo, (EFE).- The Brazilian singer Anitta, one of the most recognized Latin artists on the international scene, agreed to end her contractual relationship with the Warner Music record company after eleven years together, according to what the parties reported on Tuesday.
“After eleven years of successful association, we agreed to follow different paths,” reads the joint statement released by Anitta and Warner Music.
Anitta, who just turned 30, had harshly criticized the US label for its management of his musical career and last month went so far as to say that he would sell his “organs” to end his contract with the company.
“My love, if there was a (termination) fine to pay, I would have already auctioned off my organs, no matter how expensive it was, to get out. But unfortunately there is not, ”he said then on his social networks.
Criticism of Warner Music
A few days later, he lashed out at Warner Music again by revealing an email he sent to the president of the record company to convey his discomfort regarding the little attention they were giving him, despite his international success.
“Respect me and give me a minimum of importance. Grant me at least the honest, respectful and fair conversation that I requested instead of sending your lawyers to talk to mine about money,” he reproached the company’s leadership.
In a more cordial tone, the parties tried today to put their differences behind them and close their relationship in peace.
“Anitta would like to thank the Warner Music team for all their support. And the Warner team wishes Anitta all the best in her future ”, highlighted the brief note, which the Brazilian replied to on her Instagram profile.
Anitta is the most popular singer in Brazil and one of the most recognized in the Latin world.
She was recently nominated for the Best New Artist award at the last Grammy Awards, her video clips have millions of views, and last year she broke all records with her song “Envolver,” which reached number one on Spotify’s Global Top 50. .
