Madrid, Apr 4 (EFE).- The women’s team completed their preparation on Tuesday at the Soccer City of Las Rozas before moving to Ibiza, where they will play the friendlies against Norway and China in preparation for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The team led by Jorge Vilda developed a session between the gym and the grass of the main field of the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), attended by the coach’s father, Ángel Vilda, a former member of the coaching staff in previous stages and who in his day was a physical trainer for Johan Cruyff’s Barcelona, Luis Aragonés’ Atlético and Jupp Heynckes’ Real Madrid, among other positions.
The Spanish team will face Norway and China, twelfth and thirteenth in the FIFA World Ranking, on April 6 and 11 in Can Misses.
In the previous concentration, Spain played in the Australian Nations Cup, a tournament in which they lost to the hosts (3-2) and beat Jamaica and the Czech Republic 3-0.
Their last defeat dates back to the Euro 2022 quarterfinal against England 2-1. Since then they have beaten teams like the United States (2-0), Argentina (7-0) or Japan (1-0) and have drawn with Sweden (1-1).
In the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the Spanish team will face Costa Rica in the group stage on July 21, Zambia on July 26 and Japan on July 31, the first and third in Hamilton and the second in Auckland.
