Huelva, (EFE).- The Civil Guard has arrested a Mali man in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva) after allegedly stabbing a Romanian woman with whom he had a romantic relationship.
The events, according to what the mayor of Palos, Carmelo Romero, told EFE, took place shortly after 1:00 a.m., on a farm in the Las Arenillas area where local police and Civil Guard agents found the woman. “with a dagger stuck in the back.”
The councilor has narrated that the Local Police has received at 1:10 a.m. an alert call of a stabbing of a person on a farm in said area, giving notice to the Civil Guard who travels to the place.
Once there, the agents of both police forces “found a Romanian woman with a dagger stuck in her back, alerting the emergency services that upon arrival they could only certify her death,” he added.

From the first inquiries and investigations carried out by the agents at the scene, collecting testimonies from the deceased’s companions, “it follows that the perpetrator of the death is a Malian citizen who had a relationship with the deceased.”
“The colleagues have said that he wanted them both to live together and she refused, something that motivated him to harass her to agree, to the point that this Tuesday she planned to go to the Civil Guard to report it,” added Romero.
After being identified as the perpetrator, the Civil Guard has located and arrested the alleged perpetrator, who remains in police stations.
Despite not specifying their age, the mayor has pointed out that they are young people and that both worked in the collection of red fruits in the town. He lived in a house on Reyes Católicos street and she in the farm where he worked with a group of colleagues.
Romero has indicated that it is a situation that “we have rarely experienced in Palos de la Frontera; Yes, there have been, on occasions, other deaths from accidents or fires in shacks, but a murder in this way is not known, we are quite dismayed ”. EFE
