“Judging from what I am informed, the situation is exceptionally serious. So serious that it seems to me that it is one of the most serious cases in football since I dealt with it,” Ceferin told Slovenian sports Ekipa.
The Slovenian, who hopes to be re-elected this week in Lisbon for another four-year term at the helm of UEFA, did not want to go into details of the case, especially since such issues, he said, are dealt with by an independent disciplinary commission.
However, he stressed that, although the case is prescribed as far as the Spanish League is concerned, proceedings are underway at the level of the Spanish prosecutor’s office.
“And the same goes for UEFA, since in our organization nothing has prescribed,” warned Ceferin.
