Palma, Apr 1 (EFE).- The Mallorca defender José Copete threw his shin guards at the VAR coach after being sent off with a direct red card in the 69th minute of the match against Atlético Osasuna played this Friday at the Son Moix stadium, which ended with a 0-0 tie, according to the referee Isidro Díaz de Mera in the minutes of the match.
“José Manuel Arias Copete, after being sent off, leaving the field of play towards the changing rooms, throws his shin guards as a sign of disagreement, passing one of them a few centimeters from the VAR coach”, writes the referee attached to the Colegio de Castilla-La Stain.
Díaz de Mera points out in the minutes that the Majorcan center-back was sent off “for holding a rival (Rubén García) thereby cutting off an obvious chance of scoring.”
Mallorca played the last twenty minutes of the game that opened the twenty-seventh day of the LaLiga in numerical inferiority.
As the Mexican coach of the vermilion team, Javier Aguirre, admitted at a press conference, in the expulsion of Copete “the regulations were applied”, although he also qualified that prior to that play there could have been “lack of the Osasunista player”.
“If you only stop at that action, the hug that (Copete) gives him (Rubén García) is expulsion with a direct red card because he was the last man. But prior to all this there is a contact without the ball through the Osasuna player on José Manuel, and he takes justice by his own hand, ”said the“ Vasco ”.
Mallorca will not be able to count on the next day in Valladolid with Copete, the Uruguayan Giovanni González or the Ghanaian Idrissu Baba, the latter two for completing the cycle of five yellow cards.
