According to Putin, on April 3 the training of the Belarusian military will begin and on July 1 the underground silo will be built to house said weapons.
At first, he assured that the trigger for this decision was the British plans to supply Kiev with depleted uranium ammunition, although he later admitted that the US has been doing the same thing for decades in Europe and that the Belarusian leader had asked him on numerous occasions. occasions.
Lukashenko, for his part, assured this Friday that the necessary infrastructure to house tactical nuclear weapons is already ready in Belarus.
“I would like to specify that all the infrastructure has been created and is ready,” he stressed.
Regarding the possibility of hosting strategic nuclear weapons, Lukashenko advocated the restoration of infrastructures for the deployment of “Topol” strategic ballistic missiles.
Still, he asserted that Minsk has more options to defend its territory than nuclear weapons and will resort to “all methods” at its disposal only in the event of a threat of destruction.
