Surrounded by the main leaders of the party and faces of disappointment, Abascal has made a statement before the accredited journalists to follow the night at the electoral headquarters, in which he has questioned the celebrations at the headquarters of the PSOE, PP and Sumar.
Faced with these celebrations, he wanted to address the citizens “with all seriousness and responsibility” and has congratulated the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for having won the elections and without depending on Vox, “as he also wanted”, and has said that he imagines that now “he will maintain the offer to the PSOE to see if it allows him to govern”.
But he has warned of the “bad news” that the polls leave, since Pedro Sánchez, even having lost the elections, can block the investiture “and, what is worse, he could be invested with the support of communism, coup separatism and terrorism, now with more capacity for blackmail”.
“Manipulated” surveys
Abascal has attributed the electoral result to the “manipulated” polls that have led to “selling the bear’s skin before hunting it” and the demobilization of part of the right-wing electorate.
To them he has added the calls for the useful vote of the “media related to the PP”, which has “harmed the sum of the alternative” by contributing to the “demonization” of Vox and encouraging the left.
For the Vox leader, in this campaign there has been “less violence” towards his party, but “much more manipulation” and, despite this, he has appreciated the support that more than three million voters have given them and that allows them to continue being the third political force.
And he has assured them that they will not be disappointed, because they are going to “resist” and are “absolutely prepared both to oppose and for an electoral repetition”, in which they will once again “raise the same flags” and with the “same convictions”.
A message that he has repeated to the supporters who have come to the party headquarters, in whom he has seen his “concern” for not having been able to “throw out Pedro Sánchez”.
In an intervention of just a minute and a half, he has asked his people to trust, because “sooner or later” Vox’s ideas “will be a winner in Spain.” “With your enthusiasm it will be possible”, he assured.
