Madrid, (EFE)
The breakdown coincides with the first day of the ‘exit operation’ of Holy Week and, as detailed by Adif in its networks, mainly affects the trains that run between the capital and the northwest of the country and the provinces of Valencia and Alicante.
An Adif spokesman has detailed to EFE that, since 4:50 p.m., the electrical voltage in the catenary has been lost, so that high-speed trains cannot enter or leave the station.
One of those affected has been a convoy that came from Valencia and has been trapped in the tunnel that goes from Atocha to Chamartín, for which reason it has had to be redirected to Valdemoro to access Atocha again from there.
“Adif technicians are working to solve the incident as soon as possible,” the agency added via Twitter.
Numerous users have complained through social networks, some because their trains will leave late and others because their transport has stopped halfway, unable to reach the Madrid station.
In addition, another incident has been added to this situation, in this case at the Atocha-Almudena Grandes station, which has caused delays of around 15 minutes on the trains on lines C2, C7 and C8 of the Madrid Cercanías.
