Murcia (EFE).- The head of the Investigating Court number 1 of Murcia has ordered the opening of an oral trial against the former Murcian president Ramón Luis Valcárcel accused of continued prevarication, continued fraud and embezzlement of public funds, in relation to the lease contract for the acquisition of the Escombreras desalination plant (Cartagena).
According to sources from the Superior Court of Justice, the public prosecution requests penalties that add up to 11 years in prison for the former regional president and up to 20 of absolute disqualification and 27 of special disqualification for employment or public office.
