Pamplona (EFE).- The candidate for the presidency of the Government of Navarra for Geroa Bai, Uxue Barkos, has shown this Sunday “some concern”, because “that force and that impulse that we knew how to print in 2015 has been lost to a certain extent ” and has claimed a “brave” Provincial Executive.
Barkos, who closed a Geroa Bai program day ahead of the May 28 elections, assured that, in this “intense and long pre-campaign”, it is confirmed that this coalition “continues to be a fundamental element in shaping the political map Navarrese”.
The candidate has shared with those attending this conference the reflection that “politics is essentially built with principles and with people.” The lack of principles in political parties, she has said, “leads to cases of corruption” and “divorce on many occasions from what we had committed to society.”
In his speech, Barkos recalled the management carried out during the Government chaired by Geroa Bai from 2015 to 2019 and this legislature from his ministries.
Navarre plurality as a value
He has made a special impact on public health and has highlighted that in Geroa Bai “we do not want empty pronouncements” or last-minute “strategies and calls”. Public health, he has pointed out, “must recover the momentum of the last legislature”, because “for the moment we have not done it” with the presidency of the PSN.
After showing her commitment to social services and defending public services and the Welfare State, the candidate called for “new tools to generate economic development that is orderly and sustainable”, since “without economic development we will never have development of social principles.
Barkos has declared that Geroa Bai has managed to consolidate the concept of the plurality of Navarre as a value, even among those who “for forty years have denied it”. It is a plurality, she has added, “which also makes our institutions stronger.”
In relation to self-government, it has opted to once again promote new transfers after the “historic moment” of the transfer of powers in traffic, prison health and the IMV. In this sense, he has assured that, “without the impulse of the last legislature, there would have been no ambition to negotiate” new transfers this legislature.
“In this legislature, since the presidency of the Government, not a single one has been promoted” of these transfers, asserted the candidate, who has announced that Geroa Bai the next legislature will claim the R+D+i competition and university scholarships, among others.
Barkos has also advocated the development of infrastructures after the “enormous stinginess” of this legislature and “recovering the courageous momentum of 2015”, he has indicated.
In short, he commented, “we need a stronger government and a brave government.”
