Red Marten | València (EFE).- A balcony of the Valencia City Hall full to the brim welcomed this Saturday, before the penultimate mascletà de las Fallas, representatives of all political colors, including some national officials such as the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, the deputy of Más País Íñigo Errejón and the deputy secretaries of the PP Borja Sémper and Esteban González Pons.
Accompanied by the Valencian leaders of their respective formations and proper names from the rest of the parties, all of them have witnessed -as they could- the mascletà that has been fired by the Aitana de Bèlgida Pyrotechnics, which has emulated the beating of a heart and which has left shaking the square with a long and thunderous finish.
The pyrotechnician, Juan Bautista Mollà, considered the shot “spectacular” and that on the 18th, the day of the Night of Fire, it is necessary to “make a mascletà as toca; if not, you stay at home”.
The fault, ‘Valencian cardioversion’; la mascletà, ‘the heart of Valencia’
He has assured that it is “a coincidence” that this year’s municipal falla, ‘Cardioversió Valenciana’, also represents a giant heart and has explained that his mascletà, which they have titled “the heart of Valencia”, was scheduled for 2020 and was not fired by the cancellation of the Fallas due to the pandemic.
His partner in the firm, Isabel Benavent, could not be in the shooting because she broke her leg, although she has assured that “she was using force from home”, but another woman has fired the initial firearm with him, and therefore the falleras They have used the feminine formula “lady pyrotechnics, to start the mascletà!”.
“You can’t say the kilos”, Mollà responded when asked about the amount of pyrotechnic material that his mascletà carried, and he clarified that “perfection is said; if you say the kilos it is because you count on it not going to come out”.
Montero, Illueca, Baldoví, Errejón, Sémper, González-Pons, Catalá…
The discharge of gunpowder has impacted the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, who has celebrated having been able to see the mascletà “very close to the major fallera” and has been “impressed”.
The minister was in Valencia visiting the Fallas for the first time, specifically, “one with a feminist theme, to claim women’s rights”, and she met with the second vice president of the Consell, Héctor Illueca, to discuss matters related to housing policies.
For the Compromís spokesman in Congress, Joan Baldoví, “bestial is the word” to define this shot, which has been “extremely intense” and which, he said, has “hallucinated” “the Madrid residents of Más Madrid” invited by Compromís , who have ended up saying: “These Valencians are crazy”.
An impression that has been confirmed by the deputy of Más País Íñigo Errejón, who has already come to Valencia a couple more times in Fallas, but has assured that “of course” he will return because when he does he is accompanied by “friends” and by so much he does not know the city “in a tourist way”, but he can enter “the world of fallas”.
“It is a demonstration of pride and self-esteem of a town that makes me a little envious”, highlighted Errejón, who this year has not been represented in any ninot -although there are on him- but he has celebrated having seen a fault dedicated to mental health.
Politicians in smocks and party slogans
The balcony has also been filled with journalists and politicians dressed in traditional Fallas costumes, among them the PSPV councilors Sandra Gómez and Javier Mateo, who have started at street level to greet the fireworks.
Others have opted for the smock, such as the Valencian Esteban González Pons, while the representatives of Podemos carried purple polar linings in bags, the color of the formation, and fans, because the cool of the morning has given way to the midday heat.
Once again it has been possible to see scarves with political slogans such as those worn by the socialist councillors, with the party logo, or one of the PP with the slogan “MJC Mayoress”, in reference to the candidate María José Catalá, although the popular ones have mostly opted to wear the motto and logo of the Aitana fireworks that was shooting this Saturday.
With songs like ‘Mi tierra’ or ‘Libre’ by Nino Bravo, but also songs like ‘El signe dels temps’, by Senior i el cor brutal or ‘Mediterrània’, by La Fúmiga, the major falleras of Valencia and their courts have danced upon arrival, leaning out on the balcony.
A queue of politicians to go live on television
Until a few minutes before the start of the show, activity continued in the corner of the balcony set aside for television, where Errejón, Baldoví, Montero, Sémper and González Pons have lined up to go live.
The union members of Unides Podemos, Pilar Lima, and Compromís, Papi Robles, have completed the list of guests; the mayors of Burgos, Daniel de la Rosa, and Manresa, Marc Aloy, and the archbishop of Valencia, Enrique Benavent.
Also present were the General Director of Books of the Ministry of Culture, María José Gálvez, representatives of the Red Cross management, the president of ADIF Madrid, María Luisa Domínguez, the director of Valencia, World Capital of Design 2022, Xavi Calvo, and the National Design Award, Inma Bermúdez.
