The objective of the festival focuses above all on offering and making visible Latin American productions in Catalonia and being able to give the possibility of consuming films that have never been seen before in Catalan cinemas.
“I think that the more exposed we are to a different kind of cinema, be it that of Latin America, a more sensitive citizenry will be built that will understand the complexity that encompasses us as human beings,” film director Laura Mora told EFE. .
Likewise, the director points out the difference between the consumption of European productions in Latin America compared to that of Latin American ones in Europe and stresses the importance of festivals like the LATCinema Fest: “I love that these spaces exist, there are great Latin American films, I hope they come let me see”.
“LATCinema Fest is the only festival in Catalonia that is specifically committed to Latin American cinema with the intention of demonstrating that prejudices and barriers must be broken and that productions can have a lot of quality, very good teams behind them and that it is very valuable to make them known. ”, has assured Anna Vázquez.
The LATCinema Fest will continue with its programming of Latin American films until March 19 and will receive all those who come to the Girona cinemas in Barcelona and want to discover Latin American productions.
