Valladolid (EFE).- When this Tuesday three years have passed since covid, specifically the first state of alarm declared by the pandemic in SpainCastilla y León accumulates 856,914 positives, with 8,907 deaths associated with the coronavirus only in the public hospitals of the Community, and another 1,305 in the centers for the elderly and dependents.
The data updated today from the Ministry of Health and Family and Equal Opportunities, indicate that despite the fact that the covid has normalized after those three years, this Tuesday there are 176 hospitalized on the floor, and six in the ucis, and only in the last week 11 people registered with a covid diagnosis have died in public hospitals in the Community.
The data from this Tuesday indicate that in the last week there have been eleven deaths associated with covid, two in the Ávila hospital, with as many in Burgos, 3 in the Valladolid and Zamora hospitals, and one in Soria.
On February 27, 2020, the first two cases of covid in the Community were confirmed, a young Italian who was studying in Segovia and an Iranian engineer visiting the Cidaut Foundation, in Boecillo (Valladolid), imported cases, that is, they had been infected abroad, and of which contact tracing and follow-up could be done, without the coronavirus yet being a pandemic or being transmitted in the community.
Three years, seven waves and four doses of vaccine later, the covid has left the daily focus although it continues to register infections, 132 only in the last 24 hours in Castilla y León and twelve deaths in the last week.
An average of 9 deaths a day
These data indicate that there have been some 790 daily positives and more than nine deaths associated with covid only in hospitals and residences with these data updated between March 13, 2020 and March 14, 2023.
The peak of infections: 11,279 on January 5, 2022
The map of infections and confirmed cases leaves its peak on January 5, 2022, when 11,279 new cases were registered in a single day, with 10,540 on December 31, 2021, according to covid incidence data collected by EFE.
There are still 6 patients in the ICUs and 176 on the ward
The data from the hospitals of this March 14 show that there are 176 covid patients on the ward, and another six in critical care units in the health centers of Burgos, León, El Bierzo, the Valladolid Clinic and the Zamora hospital.
The peak of hospitalized due to covid in the plant was recorded by the Community in the first year of the pandemic, with 2,358 on April 2, 2020, and 353 in the UCIs on April 1 and 2 of that same year.
On April 2, 2020, 82 people died from covid
Also in that 2020 the peak of daily deaths in the Community in public hospitals was recorded, with 82 on April 2.
The covid mortality data, this is due to the loss of health cards, leave 18,537 deaths in the Community since March 1, 2020, although the Board specifies that the diagnosis of covid-19 prior to death does not imply that this disease is necessarily the underlying cause of death in all cases.
By age groups, the highest number of deaths has been in those over eighty, with 7,416 loss of health cards in women in that section, and 6,389 men.
Three years of covid with more than 6.4 million tests
In these almost three years, more than 6.4 million covid tests of all kinds have been carried out, with 14 percent positive.
Specifically, more than 3.3 million PCR tests have been carried out, with 8 percent being positive.
6,231,133 doses of vaccines administered: 90.76 percent of those vaccinated at full cycle
Regarding vaccines, 6,231,133 doses have been administered in the Community, 94.67 percent of those received, with 2,161,497 vaccinated to the full cycle, 90.76 percent.
And in the booster campaign for the fourth dose of 2022/2023, aimed at those over 60 and institutionalized, 663,828 doses have been administered, reaching 30.71 percent of the population.EFE
