Madrid (EFE).- The Young Women Federation (FMJ) has warned that 21.7% of women who use dating applications have been raped with physical violence, according to data from a report that will be presented this Wednesday .
This is the study “Apps Without Sexual Violence”, financed by the Ministry of Equality, which is based on interviews with 963 women users of dating applications, and which reveals that 208 of these women claim to have been forced through explicit violence.
In addition, about 30% affirm that their sexual partner continued with the practice after they had manifested physical pain and desire to stop and more than 57% of the respondents considered that one of their dates had encouraged them to drink with the aim of having sex.
A similar percentage, 57.9%, affirm that they have felt pressured to have sexual relations in these encounters and 40% have felt pressure to access practices of sexual domination.
Among the most significant variables found in this pioneering study in analyzing the sexual violence suffered by women when interacting with men through dating applications, it stands out that 70% of all violence was committed by men between the ages of 35 and 55 years.
With these conclusions, the Federation of Young Women urges the adoption of measures that protect women in these virtual environments, as well as in their subsequent meetings.
