Francisco J. Utrero I Sevilla, (EFE) write down the third attempt to conclude an opinion in search of responsibilities, always close to electoral appointments.
The PP, with its absolute majority and the support of Vox, has recovered the creation of the investigation, which was held last legislature, in order to update with possible novelties the approved opinion that points to the former director of the Foundation as the main person responsible, Fernando Villen.
It also considers the former president of the Board Manuel Chaves and José Antonio Griñán, both convicted in the case of the ERE, for being “clear the organizational chaos into which they plunged” the autonomous administration during their mandates.
The conclusions establish political responsibilities for “omission and inaction, and for hindering” the investigation in the former president and current senator, Susana Díaz, and in the former advisers María Jesús Montero (now minister), José Sánchez Maldonado, Javier Carnero and Antonio Ramírez de Arellano .
Third parliamentary inquiry into the FAFFE
However, the opinion was not approved and declined due to the advancement of the regional elections on June 19, which gave Juanma Moreno an absolute majority.
The commission’s launch this Thursday will mean the third time that the FAFFE, a public body that operated from 2003 to 2011, is the subject of parliamentary investigation, on all occasions with a close electoral process.
The first was established in the last legislature with a socialist majority, at the initiative of Ciudadanos, although it was not launched due to the electoral advance set on December 2, 2018 by the then Andalusian president, Susana Díaz.
The then head of the opposition in Andalusia, Juanma Moreno (PP-A), started the pre-campaign for those elections at the Don Angelo club (already closed), where he revealed a report from the UCO of the Civil Guard in which the spending in brothels with FAFFE cards at 31,969 euros, corresponding to 12 “revelries” in places in Seville, Córdoba and Cádiz, in addition to a cash payment on another occasion of 300 euros.
In total, 43 payments were made in brothels with three cards belonging to former Faffe manager Fernando Villén, all of them concentrated in twelve days, between the end of 2004 and mid-2009, according to the report, reeled off by Moreno.
The last legislature, with the PP and Ciudadanos in the coalition government, the investigation commission was created again to function for almost three years.
Irregularities for between 50 and 115 million
During that period, 58 people appeared, including former presidents Manuel Chaves, José Antonio Griñán and Susana Díaz, as well as various former socialist positions; Fernando Villen; Carmen Ibanco, hired by the Faffe and wife of the current leader of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas; and even the owner of the club Don Ángelo.
Now, two and a half months after the municipal elections on May 28, the PP’s initiative to re-create the investigation commission has set its objective to approve an opinion that includes the irregularities that occurred in the foundation, which the Chamber of Accounts It has been estimated at 50 million, although the political commission of investigation increased this figure to 115 million.
The popular ones do not want to repeat past appearances, but they do not rule out calling witnesses to provide news since the opinion that did not reach the plenary due to the electoral advance was made public in April 2022. EFE
