“Violence is transversal to the migratory experience of women, in their country of origin, in transit and in the country that receives them, and is framed in the economic and social systems. They experience sexual, physical, economic and institutional violence, which is hardly seen or recognized,” said Montserrat Valdivia, IMUMI social worker.
Despite the fact that as migrant women they have the right to access the health system in Mexico, she indicated, they face multiple barriers, such as the impossibility of accessing medical centers, stigma or erroneous diagnoses.
