Granada, (EFE).- Luis Sánchez, husband of the mayor of Maracena Vanessa Romero, kidnapped on February 21 by the mayor’s boyfriend, Berta Linares, has explained that she feared reprisals that she did not tell him before these facts, for which a second person could be being investigated.
He has done it to questions from journalists and after leaving the extraordinary plenary session held by the Maracena City Council to analyze the kidnapping of his wife and the possible link with municipal management.
Romero’s husband, mayor of Maracena 2030 and previously responsible for other areas such as Urbanism, has pointed out that the kidnapping victim is still “very affected” and that he cannot go out on the street.
“He can’t and doesn’t want to talk”
He has wanted the man who was the mayoress’s boyfriend, Berta Romero, to “pay with many years in jail” for the kidnapping and has asked that if “there is someone else involved”, they should also be jailed.
“She neither can nor wants to speak, she will do so at the time,” she has advanced in reference to the victim, who has told her that the detainee for the kidnapping spoke with two people during her detention and that in the hours in which she was retained appointed the mayoress.
“When my wife was locked in the trunk, he told her to shut up because she had to make two calls,” added Romero’s husband, who also pointed out that during the struggle between the councilor and her attacker, he threatened her with an iron bar. and told him “either you get in the trunk or I’ll blow your head off.”
Disencounter for “something work”
“She feared reprisals,” summarized Luis Sánchez, who said that at the time of the kidnapping his wife had “work papers” in the car and that although the arrested man acted alone, he did so with a premeditated plan and it is being investigated whether with the support of a second person.
“If they try to cover up something, it’s because there was something,” added the councilor’s husband, who has denied that the PSOE had told his wife that he would not be on the next electoral lists.
He has also confirmed that the victim did not get along with the mayoress “for something at work” and has said that he knew things because he had been working at the City Council for four years.
He did not want to assess the convenience of a possible resignation of Berta Linares and added that he left the plenary session before it ended because he did not like the tone of the interventions: “The one who was in the trunk of a car and to which they were going to kill was my wife”. EFE
