The regional president of that party and parliamentary spokesman, Manuel Domínguez, has announced this at a press conference in which he has stated that his party will appear in person as he is convinced that the Government of the Canary Islands will not give explanations.
In addition, he has referred to the information published with statements by the alleged mediator, Marco Antonio Navarro Tacoronte, in which he alluded to a conversation with the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, about the Los Realejos City Council, of which Domínguez was mayor. in several terms.
Manuel Domínguez had called the press conference to talk about the debate on the status of Canarian nationality, which will begin this Tuesday, but he said that political news has made him change sides, and for this reason he has focused on the so-called Mediator case .
The president of the PP has asserted that in its formation they are “absolutely perplexed and very upset” by an issue that, in his opinion, a priori, is very similar to the ones in Andalusia, and has emphasized that the Canarian government “links one scandal after another.”
He explained that in the face of the current alleged case of corruption, he will ask the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres (PSOE), to convene an extraordinary plenary session so that he can give exhaustive and detailed explanations.
Manuel Domínguez has stated that in the face of a “scandal of unknown dimensions that even splashes” the central government and for this reason the PP has requested the appearance in the Senate of Minister Nadia Calviño, because she is president of a foundation that supposedly gave contracts for something else of 2 million euros to the plot of the Mediator case.
And in the Canary Islands he has called for the extraordinary plenary session and the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture, Alicia Vanoostende, “not because he is looking for a scapegoat” but because in parliamentary commission he has said that all the controls have worked.
He has also asked the reasons why Juan Bernardo Fuentes was replaced at the head of the General Directorate of Livestock by his nephew Taishet Fuentes, and he was dismissed due to lack of confidence but later proposed for the Mayor’s Office of Antigua (Fuerteventura).
He also wants to know if it is true that an official was relieved after transmitting sensitive information to the counselor, as the one known as a mediator has said, and Manuel Domínguez has demanded that Ángel Víctor Torres say if he really knew that this alleged corruption plot existed.
At this point he has explained that there is an edge that affects him, and that is that Marco Navarro has said in an interview that the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín (PSOE) “sent me a message to demolish the City Council of Los Realejos and destroy Domínguez”, who was mayor of that Tenerife municipality.
In saying, the president of the Canarian PP has continued, “this alleged corrupt plot not only allegedly extorted ranchers to later use the resources in drugs and prostitution, but also tries to destroy a political opponent, specifically tries to destroy me “, who is a candidate for the Presidency of the Canarian Government.
Manuel Domínguez has asked what the mediator is referring to when he talks about blowing up the City Hall of Los Realejos “what dirty war they were planning to destroy me”, and has emphasized that if it is true, “I wish it was not true, high Socialist leaders and senior public officials “would have used this mafia plot to liquidate, to destroy a political rival.”
He has stressed that as the Government of the Canary Islands will remain without answers, he will go to the end of the matter “not only because of what has affected me personally but also for the good of this land”, and for this reason the PP of the Canary Islands will present as popular accusation.
Manuel Domínguez has said that for this action his party will be accused of political opportunism, something that he has rejected because that is something that is done by those who use the charges that society gives them to destroy and destroy a political opponent.
He has acknowledged that he has not spoken with the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, and if he has made that proposal “he should leave now, and if not the PP will demand responsibilities”, and he has added that in politics “it cannot be” that they want to end someone.
Manuel Domínguez has explained that he has not spoken with Pedro Martín because he wants it to be a lie, because if it were true “I would not be able to speak to him in my life”, and added that he has come to politics to work for the citizens.
Manuel Domínguez has assured that he does not have political enemies, he does have opponents, and has affirmed that his party will not use the appearance as a throwing weapon for its own benefit, but they will clearly state the information they have. EFE
