The level of the Special Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires of the Principality of Asturias (INFOPA) has returned to the alert phase, in which it remains automatically at certain times of the year, after the ten forest fires that this morning were still extinguished registered in the region.
The Principality activated the (INFOPA) on Wednesday of last week in the emergency phase in situation 0 due to the weather forecast and the possibility that the number of fires could increase.
After several days without rain, Asturias recorded some light rainfall yesterday that left maximum accumulations of ten liters per square meter in some parts of the community, but the more widespread rains recorded today have helped to extinguish the different outbreaks.
The Principality activates INFOPA automatically in times of high and medium risk, which in Asturias correspond to the periods between January 15 and April 30 and between July 15 and October 15, respectively. EFE
