“Russian occupation forces carried out a large-scale missile attack on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine on the night of February 15-16,” the press service of the Ukrainian Air Force Command said, according to reports. Ukrainian agency.
The Russians used twelve “Kh-101/Kh-555” type cruise missiles, launching them from two “Tu-95MS” strategic bomber aircraft from the Caspian Sea.
Another eight “Kalibr” cruise missiles were fired from a frigate in the Black Sea and twelve “Kh-22” cruise missiles from six long-range bombers near the Russian town of Kursk, some 200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
In addition, two “Kh-59” type guided missiles were air-launched from two “Su-35” tactical fighter jets in Melitopol, when they were flying over the Zaporizhia region of Ukraine.
For their part, units of the Ukrainian Air Force have shot down fourteen “Kh-101/Kh-555” and “Kalibr” cruise missiles and two air-launched “Kh-59” guided missiles, according to the sources.
“Unfortunately, some of the ‘Kh-22’ cruise missiles hit their targets, hitting critical infrastructure facilities. At the moment, we do not have the weapons capable of shooting down this type of missile,” lamented the Ukrainian Army.

The head of the Lviv Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported in the same application that a critical infrastructure has been hit in the western region.
“During the air alert, a critical infrastructure object was hit in the Lviv region. There are no victims. The fire was extinguished,” he wrote.
The spokeswoman for the Southern Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Nataliya Gumenyuk, pointed out that Russia launched a mixed attack with strategic aviation and drones and launched at least eight Kalibr missiles in the south: six over the Mykolaiv region and two against that of Jershon.
