Seville, (EFE).- Andalusia closed 2022 with a historical record in exports, since it reached the figure of 42,958 million, which exceeds the last maximum figure of 2021 by more than 8,000 million, due to sales growth of 24.3 percent, almost point and a half above the national average.
The year closed with a month of December in which exports reached 3,739 million, also a historical figure, with a rise of 17.6% over December 2021, according to Extenda data.
The eight provinces recorded all-time highs for exports, with double-digit increases.
Last year there was sustained growth in the main agri-food chapters, led by the 24.3% rise in olive oil and notable increases in industries such as aeronautics, which this year has resumed growth, with 39% more exported than in 2021.
Andalusia, third in Spain in exports
The export increase has occurred towards all the continents, but it has been especially significant in America (+34%) and Asia (+26.2%).
Andalusia is the third autonomous community in exports from Spain, with 11% of the national invoice, only behind Catalonia (94,927 million) and the Community of Madrid (59,079 million), and has reaped the third highest growth of the ten most exporters, after the Community of Madrid and the Basque Country.
The coverage rate in Andalusia is 91.1 percent, to 4,210 million of the commercial balance, due to the sharp increase in the price of oil and gas, which have caused the import bill to increase by 42.1 percent. , although the rate is six points above the Spanish average.

Remarkable growth figures
It has highlighted the strong reactivation of the aeronautical industry, greatly affected by the pandemic, which registers the second highest growth of the ten most exporting chapters, with 39% more than in 2021, reaching 2,134 million, ranking fifth in the sales ranking of Andalusia in 2022, with 5% of the total.
The leading chapter in sales and growth in 2022 is fuels and mineral oils, with 7,546 million, 17.6% of the total and an increase of 44% over 2021.
The Andalusian agri-food industry has maintained notable growth figures for another year, which were not interrupted in the years of the pandemic, and highlights the strong growth of 24.3% in olive oil exports, the most sold product in Andalusia, which reaches a historical record, exceeding 3,000 million euros (3,286 million) for the first time.
By country, it is the United States that grows the most of the top ten, 62%, to 3,287 million, while there are two other large non-European markets in the ranking, with double-digit increases in Morocco, with 2,000 million, and China. , with 1,559 million.
