Madrid (EFE).- The National Police have arrested 64 ultras for their alleged participation in a fight that occurred in the vicinity of the Burgos stadium of El Plantío during the preview of the match between Burgos and Real Zaragoza on November 27.
In addition to the ultra groups Resaca Castellana, from Burgos, and Ligallo, from Zaragoza, radicals from Viejo Fondo, from UD Logroñés, were also implicated; from the Bokerón Front, from Málaga, and from Indar Gorri, from Osasuna, the National Police reported this Thursday.
For this reason, the arrests have been distributed among the provinces of Logroño, Málaga, Madrid, Pamplona, Burgos and Zaragoza.
Hours before the start of the game, corresponding to day 17 of LaLiga Smartbank, there was a pitched battle in the vicinity of El Plantío in which more than fifty members of Resaca Castellana and Ligallo faced each other, two ultra groups that had already been involved in riots in recent years.
According to the Police, they confronted each other using blunt objects such as chairs, tables, bottles, and wastebaskets, which caused damage to the terrace of a bar, as well as to street furniture.
Two police vans went to the scene after the events to bring order and identify those who participated in the tumultuous fight, while a Real Zaragoza fan who was slightly injured was treated.
Subsequently, the investigators learned of the prior planning of the confrontation, in which ultras from Viejo Fondo (UD Logroñés), the Bokerón Front (Málaga) and Indar Gorri (Osasuna) also participated.
These types of planned confrontations are known as “drakas” and are related to alliances and enmities between radical groups, some due to political ideologies.
The police operation, called Capucha, has been directed by the Investigating Court number 2 of Burgos and coordinated by the General Information Commissioner of the Corps, which has focused on the ultra groups after several incidents and altercations in recent months.
