Santander (EFE).- Firefighters fought four forest fires in Cantabria late this afternoon, which has accumulated twenty caused since 7:30 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, and a total of 33 for 48 hours.
The General Directorate of the Natural Environment, in its part at 7:30 p.m., reports that the four active fires are located in Vega de Liébana, Ruente, Cabezón de la Sal and Colindres.
In the Vega de Liébana fire, in the vicinity of Barrio, which started some 24 hours ago, action has been taking place last afternoon and night and today, with aerial means from the Executive of Cantabria and the Government of Spain through the Forest Fire Reinforcement Brigade based in Ruente
In addition, the firefighters have controlled three outbreaks in Cabezón de Liébana, Cillorigo de Liébana and Santiurde de Toranzo.
The balance of fires caused so far in March in Cantabria has risen to 217.
