Regarding the fourth quarter of 2022, the TSJCM has indicated that the judicial bodies of Castilla-La Mancha received 1,508 complaints for gender violence, 20.8% less than in the same period of the previous year, in which they appear 1,445 women victims of gender violence.
Criminal matters are reduced
Also, criminal cases of gender violence in the fourth quarter decreased by 22.1% compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year, with 1,754 new cases compared to 2,252 in the same period of 2021.
On the other hand, in relation to the victims who took advantage of the waiver for not declaring, the report indicates that in 2022 it occurred in 453 cases (7.4% of the total complaints received), a figure similar to that of the year 2021. when 446 victims took advantage of this exemption.
In addition, during the past year, 1,718 protection orders were requested in Castilla-La Mancha, of which 1,284 were adopted, representing 75%; while in the fourth quarter of the year there have been 396 protection orders requested, of which 295 were adopted.
And as for the people prosecuted and convictions, according to the TSJCM report, 1,072 people were prosecuted for gender violence in Castilla-La Mancha in 2022, of which 988 were convicted (92.2%); and in the fourth quarter, 271 people were prosecuted, 254 of them convicted (93.7%). EFE
