Valencia (EFE).- The Corts Valencianes has put into operation the ‘software’ Themis, the first sexist language corrector specialized in transforming texts into inclusive language, to improve equality in written communication in the Chamber. The Valencian regional parliament announces this “alliance with technology” on the occasion of the celebration tomorrow, March 8 , of the
International Women’s Day, which reinforces its “commitment to gender equality and non-linguistic discrimination,” reports Les Corts in a statement. The Themis application identifies potentially exclusionary terms in a text and suggests more inclusive replacements.
It is a pioneering application that focuses on the creation of inclusive documents, so that all people feel represented when reading the final documentation.
The objective of the Themis proofreader is to digitize a task that to date was done manually, as well as to optimize the resources and working times of the Les Corts Valencianes staff.
