Madrid (EFE).- Spanish industrial production has returned to positive rates after two months in negative and increased 1.2% in January in the interannual rate, 4.3 points more than in December, when it fell 3.1%, according to data published this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
By economic sectors, non-durable consumer goods rose by 11.8% in January, and capital goods, which increased by 8.6%, while energy fell by 3. 4%, and intermediate goods, 2.5%.
After correcting for seasonal and calendar effects, the industrial production index (IPI) fell by 0.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, a rate that is 1.1 points lower than that registered in December.
