Gandia, (EFE).- The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig today thanked the fundamental role played by all the security forces in emergencies in the Valencian Community and has assured that “it is about looking forward” to continue being “a reference in security, protection and the fight against adversity throughout Europe”.
Puig made these statements today in Gandia, where the Emergency Fair was held after two years of suspension due to the pandemic. The last edition took place in the Port of Sagunto, in February 2020.
Emergency Fair
The contest, which takes place every year in a different municipality, is presented as a showcase where emergency and public safety professionals show their daily activity, through direct contact with visitors and exhibitions and practical demonstrations simulating real situations. .
During the visit to it, the president thanked “all the people and security forces, civil protection, Red Cross and Emergencies, who participate in this open exhibition in which you can see everything that the Valencian Community does for their work for the safety of the Valencians”.
Ximo Puig has indicated that “thousands of people will be able to approach the intangible and fundamental element of the Valencian Community, such as security in the face of adversity and emergencies”.
Thanks to the troops
In this sense, he has shown the support of the Generalitat “to all the people who have worked so hard these years, in damages, floods and pandemics, for everything they do to guarantee the safety of Valencians”.
The president stressed that “the instruments are getting better and better, with more technology, education, training and coordination”, and therefore, “ee tries to look ahead so that our Community continues to be a benchmark for security, protection and fight against adversity throughout Europe”.
The NGO IAE shows the work of rescue dogs
During the day, the Ong IAE will show the work carried out with its dogs in rescuing people and the National Police will carry out an exhibition of its Cavalry Unit and a demonstration of drug detection with dogs.
For its part, the Provincial Consortium of Valencia Firefighters, world champion in the World Rescue Challenge in Luxembourg, will hold an exhibition on the release of victims in traffic accidents.
The event also includes an extensive program of activities aimed at both the general public and the little ones who will be able to participate in painting workshops and experiments and displays of meteorological instruments; multi-adventure area and traffic education park.
Among the participating organizations, some of the state level stand out, such as the Military Emergency Unit, the Civil Guard and the National Police, as well as many from the Valencian Community: Department of Health and Agriculture; Red Cross, Gandia Local Police, Valencia Provincial Firefighters Consortium, Speleology Federation, State Meteorology Agency and Gandia Local Volunteer Group.
Land and water vehicles and five helicopters
The Generalitat Fire Service and Forest Firefighters, the Generalitat Police, the Emergency Coordination Center and the 112 Valencian Community Emergency telephone service will also be present at an event where land intervention vehicles, aquatic vehicles and five helicopters.
The “Comunitat Valenciana” emergency telephone stand is one of the stands with the largest number of visitors in the various editions of the fair, with numerous attendance of boys and girls who, through various recreational activities, can learn how it works and its benefits to the community. time to report an emergency.
