Valladolid (EFE).- Urban buses present this Wednesday, the first day without the obligation, fewer masks than in the past, although out of every ten people who have boarded one of the line 1 buses early this morning from Valladolid four or five still carried it.
This was explained to EFE by Gloria, one of the drivers of line 1 in Valladolid, at 8.50 in the morning during one of her journeys with the bus that runs between Covaresa and Barrio España, one of the most widely used of the city and where fewer masks have been seen on buses.
The driver has detailed that some wore the mask out of prudence and in other cases due to ignorance about the end of the media, since some have asked her if she had a mask, since they had forgotten it at home, and others if it was necessary use.
Fewer masks than yesterday
Ana is one of the users of that bus who has chosen to go without the mask, in her case because her glasses fog up and she cannot read her mobile, but she warns that she is wearing the mask very close, on her elbow, because if the bus were full. If she has to travel with everyone close together she will continue to use it, she anticipates it.
Alejandro and Eva are other users of the line 1 bus sitting with their masks. The first out of prudence, since it is a closed space and there could be anything, also many colds, and the second because she has a baby and with her mask she protects herself and him.
The one who is clear about it is the young Sonsoles, 19, who sees it as “perfect” not having to wear a mask on the bus. “About time,” she adds.
As of this Wednesday, masks in transport will come to an end in Spain after just over a thousand days in which they were mandatory, a decision that comes into force today.
covid data
Castilla y León faces this end of the mandatory use of the mask on public transport with some covid data that yesterday left ten deaths in the last week, one of them from a user of residences, and 533 positive cases of coronavirus in the last seven days.
With the new norm, it is not necessary to wear the mask in an optical or optometric establishment, but in residences and other social and health centers for the people who work in them, as long as they are in contact with residents and for visitors when they are in shared areas. .
It will also continue to be mandatory in hospitals, pharmacies, first-aid kits or health centers, as well as in dental, aesthetic or physiotherapist clinics, a list of more than a hundred centers in which Health considers that its use continues to be essential.EFE
