Brussels, (EFE) and head of the Spanish delegation in this institution, Concha Andreu.
“We have focused on that necessary territorial cohesion (which must arrive) thanks to digital advances and post-pandemic recovery funds,” Andreu pointed out, in statements to EFE, before participating in Brussels in the CdR plenary session, which brings together the cities and regions of the European Union (EU).
Accompanied by representatives of the rest of the Spanish communities, the president of La Rioja hand-delivered to the president of the CdR, Vasco Cordeiro, a document of priorities agreed by all the autonomous governments of the country.
“A total consensus has been reached to focus on the problems and possible solutions that interest us as regions within Spain,” remarked Andreu, who since last June has been the head of the Spanish delegation at the CdR.
According to her, it is important that “any region, no matter how small, has access to any service” and, for this reason, she pointed out that the agreed priorities document contemplates objectives in terms of digitization and energy transition.
In addition, Andreu highlighted the importance that, in his opinion, this priority agreement will have during the next Spanish presidency, starting in June 2023, in the European Council, the body that brings together the governments of the EU States.
«This document will be based on the Government to also reach works and conclusions (in the Council) that achieve a basis for agreements in Europe that have to do with reducing the differences between urban and rural areas, the Pact European Green or industrialization”, exposed Andreu. EFE
