Madrid (EFE).- Alfonso, 53, was a somewhat dark and strange “sugar daddy” according to the young people he used to hire. Among them was Milena, whom he allegedly killed before hanging himself in the bathroom of her apartment in the Madrid district of Arganzuela. But was he alone when he committed the crime?
The case, beyond Alfonso’s authorship, leaves open many unknowns, from the possible participation of third parties, to the place and the way in which Milena was murdered at the end of last November, according to sources close to EFE. to the investigation.
The body of the 20-year-old girl living in Alcalá de Henares had numerous injuries from strong blows, one of them to the head, as if she had been the victim of a beating before dying. However, the first investigations of the Homicide Group VI determined that she died of strangulation. And it is that she also had marks on her neck.
Milena had met Alfonso, a computer scientist who suffered from a terminal illness, at noon on November 22 in Tirso de Molina. They went to a downtown spa where he used to take the “sugar babies” he hired and then ate at a nearby restaurant.
The young woman had met another man that afternoon but, after more than 12 hours without hearing from her -already at dawn on the 23rd-, her supposed boyfriend, who knew about Milena’s meetings, filed a complaint for her disappearance in the Alcalá de Henares Police Station.
After crossing the data collected in the investigation, the Police suspected on the 28th that the young woman could be on the same floor on Fray Luis de León street where two days earlier, on Saturday the 26th, the agents had discovered the hanged body of Alfonso and a suicide note.
They did not have a search warrant and the suicide protocol does not indicate that they should inspect the house, so they did not search the entire property, nor a small room or storage room that was padlocked.
A mini temple of sex under lock and key
As the agents expected, when they entered the apartment again on Monday the 28th and unlocked the padlock of that room, they found Milena’s naked corpse lying face up on a bed. The scene was grim, since it was the small room that Alfonso used to perform his sexual rites.
There were costumes in which he practiced role-playing games with the young women. Of all of them he had a marked obsession with one of them, to which he had even dedicated an altar with photographs of her that was also in the same room.
Within the framework of these role-playing games, he even asked one of the “sugars” to go to a cemetery so that she could pretend that she was dead.
Investigators found that on the same afternoon of the 22nd, the date on which Milena is believed to have been murdered, Alfonso was with another young woman, and in turn with a third the following day, all before taking his own life.
«Helker Skelter»
The Scientific Police inspected the room in which Milena’s body appeared, where no traces of blood were found. For this reason, the investigators left open the possibility that the young woman had been murdered elsewhere, inside or outside the house.
What they did discover on a wall in the living room of the home, when activating the ultraviolet light, was an inscription invisible at first sight that read “Helker Skelter”, the title of the mythical song by the band The Beatles (referred to in Spanish to lack of control or disorder) and a motto linked to obscurantism and the crimes of the Manson family.
two key witnesses
Another aspect that feeds the mystery around the case is the intervention of two people who entered the apartment on Fray Luis de León street after the discovery of Alfonso’s suicide and before the discovery of Milena’s body by the Police, between which about 48 hours elapsed.
It is about the ex-partner of the alleged murderer and a mutual friend, who admitted having opened the room where the young woman was before the agents, whom they mistook for an inflatable doll, according to what they declared before the investigators.
The well-known criminal lawyer Juan Manuel Medina has taken charge of the case on behalf of the victim’s family and, consulted by EFE, has refused to make statements since the judicial investigation is in an initial phase.
Did anyone other than Alfonso know about Milena’s death before she was found by the Police? Were third parties involved in the crime? These are questions that the case leaves open and that the investigation will try to clarify.
