The mayoress of Santander, Gema Igual, who has participated in this first boat route, has pointed out that the ecotourism project aims to “value” biodiversity.
The new experience, which leaves Puerto Chico and runs around Cabo Mayor, has added value due to its small groups of twelve people, its didactic component and because it is a carbon neutral project.
This ecotourism route lasts an hour and a half.
It will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 and 12:15 in July and August, and on Saturdays, September 2 and 9 at 11:00 with departures from the Molnedo dock.
The price of 20 euros per passenger and 18 euros for children under 12 years.
10% of each ticket will go to the project for the recovery of the osprey in Santander Bay.
Likewise, five walking routes are offered accompanied by an ecotourism expert, which last approximately two hours and cost 3 euros (free for children under 12).
In this case, the benefits will be fully reinvested in conservation projects and local awareness through the Costa Quebrada Association.
These routes are part of Santander’s tourism sustainability plan financed by European funds.
