Palencia June (EFE).- The management of Renault has informed the unions that the headquarters of the new entity Horse Holding will be established in Madrid, with which the decision-making center of the new company, of which they will become the workers of Motores Valladolid and Seville, remain in Spain.
The management has met this Wednesday the Board of Spokespersons of the Intercentre Committee to officially communicate this decision that affects 9,000 workers of the Renault Group, of which 3,400 work in Valladolid and Seville.
Vital for workers
Both the UGT and the CC.OO have expressed their satisfaction with this decision, “vital for the motor workers in Valladolid and Seville” because it means “having at their side the managers who are going to make decisions about the future of the new company world level”.
CC.OO has also underlined the importance of this decision and that finally the company, which was considering Romania and Spain as the headquarters of Horse, has chosen Madrid, given that the highest percentage of workers of the new entity is in Spain.
For CC.OO, the fact that the company’s decision-making center is in Spain “is the way to ensure that decisions and investments on new projects are made from our country, something that, in principle, gives more guarantees of stability ”.
Centers on two continents
The Horse group is the Joint Venture (business line) dedicated to combustion and hybrid cars, which carries out low-emission fuel, hybridization and industrial optimization activities and as a whole will have 19,000 workers in seventeen factories and five engineering centers in the world.
The affected areas of the Renault Group that become part of this new entity are engines, thermal gearboxes and hybrid/connected hybrids, and development of low-carbon fuels.
The workplaces that have become Horse in the world are Motores Valladolid and Sevilla (Spain), Cacia (Portugal), Bursa (Turkey), Pitesti (Romania), Curitiba (Brazil), CorMecanica (Chile), PFA (Argentina) and in Engineering, Product and process: RTS (Spain), RTR (Romania and Turkey) RTA (Brazil).
The unions have recalled that since the Renault Group reported the creation of the new entity, they have demanded that the labor rights of the entire affected workforce be guaranteed, and that the headquarters be in Spain. EFE
