Madrid (EFE) comfortable absolute majority after managing to add 70 deputies, sixteen seats more than the left-wing formations.
The thirteenth legislature of the Madrid chamber opens this Tuesday with the inauguration of 135 new deputies, one less than in the previous one due to the reduction of the register in the Community of Madrid.
Absolute majority of Ayuso
The 28M elections gave Díaz Ayuso a comfortable absolute majority with 70 seats -which gives him a large majority like those of Esperanza Aguirre and Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón- and he manages to govern alone without the need for the 11 deputies with whom he Vox account.
For their part, the groups on the left will be reduced to two, Más Madrid and PSOE, who are equal in 27 seats but the opposition will be led by Mónica García, by a difference of 6,335 votes more than the Socialists.
Podemos will be the group that disappears this legislature from the Madrid Assembly, and follows the same path as Ciudadanos in 2021, since despite achieving 161,032 votes, it did not reach 5% of the total required by electoral law to enter the chamber.
Investiture debate next week
The next milestone of the legislature will take place, according to popular sources, next week, on June 21 and 22, when the investiture debate will take place in two days: in the first, Díaz Ayuso will present his Government program, and in the next one the vote will take place.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso will take office as president of the Community of Madrid the following day, on June 23, and will form a Government with the appointment of directors on June 26.
The absolute majority achieved by the popular candidate will expedite her investiture, although the regulations establish that the proposal to preside over the Community must be formalized within a maximum period of fifteen days from June 13 and it will be the Presidency of the chamber that will set the date of the celebration of the investiture session, which will take place between the third and the seventh following day.
