Vigo, June 5 (EFE).- The Spanish international Iago Aspas was very critical of Celta de Vigo’s season despite achieving permanence in LaLiga on the last day with his victory against FC Barcelona.
“Who was going to tell us a month and a half ago that we were going to have to gamble on the last day. We have done things very badly and we have had to push people again, as in previous years, to achieve that long-awaited permanence”, recalled the top scorer from the sky.
Aspas believes that Celta has not given “the level” throughout the championship, and pointed to the young Gabri Veiga, author of the two goals in the victory against the league champion, as the hero of salvation.
“I think he’s had a great season. It is true that he has had ups and downs, as we all have had, but a midfielder who scores 11 goals is worth throwing his hands up in, ”he highlighted.
