Logroño, (EFE) regional governments on May 28.
Gamarra has made these statements in Logroño before meeting with representatives and auditors of the PP to thank them for the work carried out on election day last Sunday.
He added that the PP has already been launched “internally” to consolidate the change and “motivate and excite the Spaniards” who voted “hopeful” in the last elections, for which the popular will carry out a “calm, serene and moderate, as is Spanish society”.
Therefore, he added, “in this overdose of confrontation, aggressiveness, insult and disqualification in which President Pedro Sánchez has entered, and with him the PSOE, from the moment they called general elections, the pediment of the PP”.
The Socialists are going to verify that Spanish society is like a fronton that “is going to return all those balls of tension, disqualification and signaling, with a way of understanding politics.”
Moderation versus tension
He has insisted that the PP, “from moderation”, will work to ensure that the country has a future, and with it the 48 million Spaniards have a future.
On the formation of pacts with other parties to govern in the autonomies and city councils, he has indicated that before the elections the PP asked the PSOE to govern the list with the most votes, “but no response was obtained from the Socialists”, he has qualified.
“This is an approach that requires the agreement of the two major parties so that there is reciprocity,” he added, “and so far the only thing we have found has been absolute rejection by the PSOE, to the point that many of their candidates on the same election night said they would no longer govern”.
Regarding possible pacts with Vox, he has opted to govern “alone”, since that is the commitment that the PP adopted during the electoral campaign and they are working on it, “for which they are talking with many political forces.”
