Granada, (EFE) former mayor of this town Noel López, current number 3 of the PSOE-A, due to his status as an Andalusian parliamentarian.
Coinciding with the lifting of the secrecy of the summary, which occurs after the last extension of the same, sources of the case have informed EFE this Thursday that, together with López, they are also communicating to the Criminal Chamber of the high court of the possible relation to the events of the current mayoress, Berta Linares (PSOE), and the mayor of Town Planning, Antonio García Leyva.
At the moment, the sources specify, these three people are not formally listed as being investigated, waiting for the TSJA to rule on their procedural situation.
The elevation of the case to the TSJA, due to López’s status as registered, is produced by possible indications of crimes in relation to the kidnapping, for which he remains in prison and as the only one investigated at the moment, the one who was the mayoress’s boyfriend when events occurred.
Fifteen years as mayor of Maracena
The number 3 of the Andalusian PSOE was for more than 15 years mayor of Maracena, a position he left in July 2022 to focus on the Organization Secretariat of the Andalusian PSOE and in which the current councilor succeeded him.
The kidnapping took place on the morning of February 21, when the detainee, with a knife and a simulated pistol, retained and locked the councilor for Maracena 2030 and former councilor for Urbanism in the trunk of the car, among other responsibilities.
This illegal retention has been linked to a possible urban cause because the victim, who has appeared in the case as a private prosecution, had documentation in his vehicle and had disagreements with the mayoress and candidate for re-election.
The head of the court in charge of the case decreed the provisional detention of the detainee, who then accepted his right not to testify but did so after several changes of lawyer, first before the Civil Guard and then in court.
After the kidnapping, the Judicial Police demanded that the Maracena City Council guard their files in the same line of investigation that linked the kidnapping to an urban plot. EFE
