Exhibitions all over the world
Wenders, recognized as one of the pioneers of the New German Cinema of the 70s, and who has managed to make his way as one of the most prominent representatives of contemporary international cinema, currently has photographic exhibitions all over the world, cinema and photography books and collections of essays. Speaking to Efe, Wenders explains that photography represents “my second life”, the one that lives behind a camera, as opposed to the best-known one, in which it is behind a film camera. In this sense, He points out that when he takes pictures “I am always alone, I always travel alone”, in contrast to the times when he makes films, in which “I am always surrounded by people”.
Among his most outstanding films are award-winning feature films such as “Paris”, “Texas” or “The sky over Berlin”, and documentaries such as “Pina”, “Buena Vista Social Club” or “Sal de la tierra”.
monuments to eternity
As reported by Villa del Arte Galleries, through this series of freeze frames, Wenders seeks to “capture timeless moments that reveal the limitless flow of time, like monuments to eternity.”
Part of the income generated by this exhibition in Barcelona will be invested in the purpose of the Wim Wenders non-profit foundation, which collects, restores and exhibits Wenders’ cinematographic, photographic and literary work and is also dedicated to promoting young talents. and impart film knowledge.
