Haro, (EFE).- The spokesperson for the Executive, Isabel Rodríguez, said this Thursday that, in these elections on May 28, “the Socialists will present ourselves before our country, before each municipality, city or autonomous community with the peace of mind to be able to look each other in the eye, to know that we have given our best and that we have fulfilled our commitment and our ideas”.
The also Minister of Territorial Policy has intervened in a public act in Haro, in which the PSOE candidacy for mayor of the town, led by Naiara Hernáez, has been presented, and in which the regional secretary of the PSOE and candidate for the Presidency of the Government of La Rioja, Concha Andreu.
The minister has also stressed that the Government, chaired by Pedro Sánchez, will be hand in hand with the social majority and the latest example, she has stressed, is the new Housing Law.
“Before, housing was a business and, now, we are fighting to make it truly a right,” he emphasized.
“Spain, La Rioja and the PSOE have measured themselves with great height” in the health crisis, emphasized the minister, who has recognized the work of the people who were on the front line in the pandemic, but has also had an impact, of all the Spaniards and, in this regard, she has assured that she feels “proud” to come to this region to speak of the Government of Spain.
At a regional level, he has also highlighted the management of the Socialists in La Rioja, with a government chaired by Concha Andreu, whom he has defined as a woman who “lives politics with passion.”
Among the applause of the nearly 200 people gathered at the event, according to the organization, Rodríguez addressed Andreu to also tell him that “there has never been as much claim for this land (in the Government of Spain), as Concha has done ”, who “knows his land and was very clear about his plan” and the Government of Spain “has committed to La Rioja”.
Andreu has assured that when the socialists assumed responsibility for the La Rioja government, in August 2019, “there was nothing in the drawers; no project; and we had everything to do after a brutal inertia of 24 years” of PP governments.
He has also stressed that one of his objectives is to specialize La Rioja in its potential, as was the case with viticulture, the agri-food industry, containers and packaging or the case of Spain, to promote R+D+i and create employment of quality, in which “we are engaged”.
The socialist candidate for mayor of Haro has said that she wants to make “a Haro for everyone, where you can work, grow, undertake, be involved with the environment and where daily life is made easier for its inhabitants.” EFE.
