Barcelona (EFE).- The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has sentenced the suspended president of the Parliament Laura Borràs to 4 and a half years in prison for awarding contracts by hand in the Institution of Catalan Letters, but has proposed her partial pardon so that he can avoid going to prison.
In the sentence, which can be appealed, the Catalan high court attributes to Borràs the crimes of prevarication and document falsification, for which it also imposes a sentence of 9 years of disqualification.
In the trial, which ended on March 1, the Prosecutor’s Office asked Borràs for six years in prison and 21 years of disqualification for fragmenting the ILC website project into 18 minor contracts, for a value of 335,700 euros, to award them accordingly. “totally arbitrary” manner to his friend Isaías H., knowing that he was committing an irregularity.
