Madrid (EFE).- Hotel reservations for Easter now reach 80% in sun and beach destinations and are 12 points above those of 2019, although markets such as the German and the British have not yet fully recovered all air connectivity.
The president of the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodations (CEHAT), Jorge Marichal, explained this Thursday in a meeting with the media that the perceptions of travelers continue to improve, which is also helped by the climate, which is predictably warm for the Easter week.
Over time, reservations are made again with more time, contrary to what happened during the pandemic, when last-minute reservations prevailed, and cancellations are falling, very powerful during Covid 19.
Price indicators are also positive for hoteliers, with increases of 19 percentage points in the average rate (ADR) over 2019 and 21 points in the case of the rate per occupied room (RevPAR).
Specifically, in January prices rose 17% over that month of 2019 and in February they did so by 19%.
Domestic tourism presents occupations of up to 65% and campsites even reach 95%.
Among foreign markets, the strong recovery of the American market stands out, due to the increase in air connectivity with that country, and the return of the Asian market after the opening of China, important for cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.
