In an interview on Onda Cero collected by EFE, the PP campaign spokesman, Borja Sémper, has insisted that Núñez Feijóo will take the initiative to attempt his investiture, because they understand that yesterday’s results lead to a blockade of the legislature or to electoral repetition.
The PP won the general elections by obtaining 136 seats, although without a sufficient majority to govern, followed by the PSOE, which obtained 122 deputies; Vox, 33, and Sumar, 31, some results with which the left sees it as possible to govern.
“I know that it is very difficult to raise it today (a government led by Feijóo), but I do not think that Spain has another way out,” said Sémper, who has considered that, in this scenario, the best thing for the country is for the party that has won the elections to question the PSOE to see if it is willing to explore alternative formulas.
After insisting that the “only reasonable alternative” for the country “is to have a vision of the State”, he has said that Feijóo will transfer it to Sánchez, as well as his will that Spain does not depend on the governance of Bildu, the independentistas and those who do not believe in Spanish coexistence.
The popular leader, who has ironized that last night he saw a Sánchez “very happy despite having to sit down to negotiate with Puigdemont, ERC and Bildu”, has emphasized that the price of the support of the independentistas is already known what it is, and has wondered if this is really the future they want for Spain.
In another interview on Telecinco, the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, has warned of the risk of an absolute blockade for the country that a government headed by Sánchez with the separatist and pro-independence parties would entail.
And along these lines, he recalled that the independentistas want to raise the price of their support for Pedro Sánchez and advance independence.
